New-age carrier Vietjet inaugurated five new routes connecting Can Tho with Hai Phong, Vinh, Thanh Hoa, Nha Trang and Da Lat at Can Tho International Airport on Saturday.

The inaugural ceremony took place in the presence of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and other senior Vietnamese Government officials.

These new routes, which will operate from April 26, help Vietjet become the airline with the most flights to and from Can Tho.

Chairwoman of Vietjet Nguyen Thanh Ha said she believed that the new routes would not only offer traveling opportunities for local people and tourists but also promote foreign exchange and contribute to increasing local investment.

In peak season, the airline operates up to five flights per day to Can Tho.

Vietjet and Thai Vietjet – a joint venture with Thai airline Kan Air – have co-operated with many travel agencies to operate flights between Can Tho and international destinations.

At the Can Tho Investment Promotion Conference in 2018, Vietjet and the municipal People’s Committee signed a memorandum of understanding on promoting trade, aviation, tourism and investment co-operation.

According to Vietjet, the Can Tho – Hai Phong route will operate return flights daily; Can Tho – Vinh (Nghe An Province) route will operate return flights on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday while the Can Tho – Thanh Hoa route will operate return flights on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

The airline will also provide return flights on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday on Can Tho – Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa Province). Return flights on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday on Can Tho – Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa Province) will be also included.— VNS
