HA NOI – The Viet Nam E-commerce and Information Technology Agency (VECITA), under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, officially launched Viet Nam's e-commerce website competition for 2014 on Wednesday.

"The competition, Vietweb 2014, aims to search for and honour prestigious websites for their contribution to the country's e-commerce development," Deputy Director of the Viet Nam E-commerce Development Centre (EcomViet), Bui Thi Thanh Hang, said.

All websites that belong to Vietnamese companies and have been in business for one year are eligible to participate in the contest.

Hang also said that the wining websites will be labeled with SafeWeb for one year, a standard system in e-commerce transactions in Viet Nam.

The board of examiners will evaluate websites based upon three criteria, including users' information protection, the bargain process, and information disclosure statements, according to Hang.

Vietweb 2014, sponsored by the centre, in co-operation with the Viet Nam E-Commerce Association (VECOM) and VnExpress.net, is accepting entries until March 31, 2014. — VNS
