Hong Bang International University in HCM City on Thursday signed an agreement on collaborative programmes with the University of Bedfordshire in the UK.

Under the agreement, the universities will work to set up collaborative training programmes for bachelor and master degrees in business administration, hospitality management and international tourism, and bachelor degrees in cyber security and in the English language.

After finishing studies at Hong Bang International University, students will receive degrees issued by the University of Bedfordshire that will be recognised internationally and in Europe.

Hong Bang International University has co-operated with others to offer training programmes and foreign degrees in the US, New Zealand, Australia and other countries. This has helped save costs for study abroad.

Dr Ho Thanh Phong, Hong Bang International University’s rector, said: “As all the distance in world is continuously diminishing, education has to be more globalised so that students have knowledge of economics, culture, politics, and the environment on a global scale.”

Conor Burns, Minister of State at the UK's Department for International Trade, and Ian Gibbons, British Consul General in HCM City, visited the university and took part in the signing ceremony on Thursday. — VNS
