QUANG NAM (Biz Hub) — The Tuan Chau Group will start construction of an entertainment, tourism and real estate complex with total investment capital of VND3 trillion (US$133.3 million) in Dien Ban in the central province of Quang Nam later this year.

Head of the Investment and Co-operation Office under the provincial Department of Planning and Investment, Doan Ngoc Minh, confirmed to Viet Nam News that the project would boost investment from domestic and foreign investors in the eastern part of the province..

He said Tuan Chau Group had completed land clearance to begin the first stage of the project this year. The project would play a crucial role in boosting socio-economic development in the province.

The project, which is located on Rong (Dragon) Beach, was approved by the province in 2010, but the initial investors failed to start construction.

The Quang Ninh-based Tuan Chau Group will develop the second stage across 86ha of Rong Beach.

Last year, the province also granted an investment licence to a five-star hotel chain for a beach resort worth VND500 billion (US$24 million) in Hoi An.

The province has so far attracted 112 Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) projects worth $1.7 billion. — VNS
