HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Tuan Chau Group and Him Lam Corporation celebrated the groundbreaking ceremony of a 27-hole golf course in Tuan Chau-Ha Long International Resort in northern Quang Ninh Province on October 30.
The 139ha course, designed for evening golf, will include multi-purpose buildings with accommodations, dining, shopping for golfers and fans and a car park.
About VND1.5 trillion (US$7.1 million) will be poured into the two-phase project, which will be finished in 36 months.
The course is the biggest one in the province and the only one near the world natural heritage site of Ha Long Bay.
A Tuan Chau group representative said the golf course would be unique as it would be located next to the province's Tuan Chau cruise ship terminal, which the Vietnam Record Organisation recently recognised as the nation's biggest artificial marina.
While the marina connects the local area to multiple ports, ship operators and international yachts in the region and the world, the golf course will serve as an added attraction in the area and will further promote the image of Ha Long Bay.
The project is expected to contribute to the development of the domestic economy as well as tourism, sports and services and create jobs for residents.
