Trungnam Group and Vinh Long Province end temporary houses, build a new school

Trung Nam Group and Vinh Long Province completed the removal of temporary houses and built a new school, welcoming the 100th anniversary of the birth of the late Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet on November 23.

The removal of the homes is part of a social security programme run by the group for the southern province with the goal of eliminating temporary houses for the poor throughout the area.

Launched on March 18, 2022, the programme aims to build a total of 1,600 houses. Trungnam Group provided nearly 1,300 houses, with a total cost of VND66 billion (US$2.86 million), accounting for nearly 80 per cent of the budget for the whole campaign.

Thanks to the support, Vinh Long became the first province in the country to complete the elimination of temporary houses for the poor.

Nguyen Tam Tien, General Director of Trungnam Group, said: "Trungnam Group is aware that both business development and contributing to human and social development are parallel activities, supporting each other and cannot be separated.”

By 2022, Trungnam Group has committed to finance the construction of more than 7,335 Great Solidarity houses across provinces such as Dak Lak, Soc Trang, Kon Tum, Ninh Thuan, Ben Tre, Tra Vinh, Lam Dong, Binh Phuoc, and Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang and Hoa Binh.

With specific actions of "say and do", Trungnam Group was making daily contributions to the development of society, said Tien.

One day after the activities, on November 22, 2022, Trungnam Group inaugurated and handed over Nguyen Huu Tu High School to the province.

The school, construction of which started on July 11, with investment of VND162 billion, will become a place to nurture the spirit of learning and non-stop striving for thousands of students, for the future generations of Vinh Long Province.

In the spirit of late Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet who worked for future generations during his lifetime, the school, spanning an area of ​​12,000 sq.m with a modern educational space including the reception hall, office block, learning block, subject block, multi-purpose building block and mini football field, was handed over to celebrate the anniversary of his birthday on November 23.

The school, designed in a modern, scientific manner, meeting national standards, will serve 1,200 students with a total of 52 rooms including 24 classrooms and 28 function rooms.
