Trung Nguyên Legend Cafe has recently opened its first store in Westminster, California, making its debut in the US.

The 1,300-square-foot store is located in the Little Sài Gòn neighbourhood, the heart of Westminster City, California, which has a high concentration of Vietnamese residents. The store serves filter coffee and espresso drinks using 100 per cent Việt Nam-grown Robusta and Arabica coffee beans sourced from Buôn Ma Thuột Province. The outlet also serves egg coffee – a Vietnamese specialty made of egg yolks, sugar, condensed milk and robusta coffee.

“We want to bring Vietnamese coffee culture to the US. It’s not just a drink to us, it’s more about sitting down, enjoying each other’s company, and building connections with people,” said Jennie Tang, CEO of H&L Wholesale Food Corporation – a distributor of Trung Nguyên’s packaged retail coffee in the US.

Việt Nam is the largest exporter of Robusta coffee beans in the world. Trung Nguyên has distributed packaged retail coffee to more than 60 countries, including the US where it has had a presence in supermarkets for over 20 years.

Outside Việt Nam, the company made its debut in China in September 2022 with three stores in Shanghai to date. It established a representative office in Korea in April this year. — VNS
