Thái Nguyên Province has approved a project to attract investment in manufacturing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), marking a significant step toward developing a so-called low-altitude economy.

HÀ NỘI — The north east province of Thái Nguyên has approved a project to attract investment in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) manufacturing, marking a significant step toward developing a low-altitude economy.
The low-altitude economy is an emerging economic sector centering around technologies operating near ground level, such as drones and autonomous flying vehicles, as well as related services. This industry is increasingly seen as a global trend and expected to be a future growth driver, applied not only in national defense but also in other sectors ranging from smart agriculture and logistics to environmental monitoring and rescue services.
Under Decision No. 1334/QĐ-UBNN, the supply chain for UAV production and related industries of the low-altitude economy will be identified within the second quarter of this year, together with plans to promote investment in this sector.
With this project, Thái Nguyên aims to position itself at the forefront of this trend. The province has planned 11 industrial parks and one information technology zone, covering a total area of 4,245 ha to attract investors.
Thái Nguyên also launched a number of initiatives to promote the development of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation, aligning with the broadernational goals under the Politburo’s Resolution 57/NQ-TW. — VNS
