Since the two countries elevated their relationship to a strategic partnership in 2015, Malaysia’s exports to Việt Nam have soared by around 160 per cent.
Malaysia has announced it will initiate an anti-dumping duty investigation on the imports of galvanised iron coils/sheets or galvanised steel coils/sheets originating from or imported from Việt Nam, China and South Korea.
Bilateral trade between Viet Nam and Malaysia should be strengthened further as the two countries have set a two-way trade target of US$15 billion by 2020.
