The Việt Nam e-Commerce Association (VECOM) has said that a proposal that e-commerce platforms declare and pay taxes on behalf of sellers is unreasonable and should be removed from the draft amended Law on Tax Management.
Vecom estimated that last year, the retail e-commerce transaction scale comprised about 8.5 per cent of the total retail sales of consumer goods and services of VNĐ5,680 trillion ($240.5 billion).
The Viet Nam e-Commerce Association (Vecom) said that a number of regulations in Circular 40 were not yet feasible, which could impact activities of hundreds of thousands of individuals doing business on e-commerce floors.
