SSI Secutities Corporation has won the ‘Best cross border M&A deal of the year’ award at the Annual Best Deal & Solution Awards given by Alpha Southeast Asia, an institutional investment magazine, for the US$100 million Pharmacity deal.

Viet Nam’s largest pharmacy chain Pharmacity, which has 667 stores in 16 provinces and cities, successfully offered convertible bonds, made a private placement in the domestic market ($90 million) and sold secondary shares ($10 million) with SSI’s advisory and arrangement.
With the global and Vietnamese economies hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, M&A activities were also affected, but SSI successfully arranged many large M&A deals, including cross-border.
The ‘Annual Best Deal & Solution Awards’ honour best the equity and M&A deals in the Southeast Asian capital market following a rigorous evaluation by leading financial and investment experts and major partners and investors. — VNS
