HÀ NỘI — A specialised exhibition showcasing ceramics and lacquered gold crafts opened on June 17 at the Capital OCOP product display and promotion centre in Hà Đông District, Hà Nội City.
Organised by the Hà Nội Department of Industry and Trade, the event features over 320 handicraft items across 500 square metres, highlighting OCOP products and award-winning rural industrial goods from craft villages.
Nguyễn Ánh Dương, deputy director of the department, said the exhibition aims to promote trade, connect businesses, and support sustainable development in traditional craft sectors amid global integration.
Artisan Hà Thị Vinh from Bát Tràng village highlighted the role of such events in linking craft villages and suggested more competitions and digital engagement to expand market reach.
Despite the vibrancy of the sector, challenges remain, including fierce international competition, rising quality standards, and a shortage of skilled successors. Dương stressed the need for strategic support in innovation, trade promotion, tourism development, and improved policies on finance, land and intellectual property. — VNS
