Logistics giant SLP Vietnam has swiftly launched multiple relief efforts in regions severely impacted by Typhoon Yagi to help residents quickly return their normal everyday lives.

Typhoon Yagi, the most powerful storm to strike Việt Nam in the past 30 years, caused extensive damage across several northern provinces, triggering widespread flooding, landslides and flash floods.

Demonstrating a strong spirit of solidarity and corporate responsibility, SLP Vietnam launched immediate relief efforts in the impacted areas and initiated an internal donation drive, rallying employees to contribute to the cause of supporting those in need.

As part of the efforts to aid children in the hardest-hit areas, SLP Vietnam became the first company to partner with the Việt Nam Association for the Protection of Children’s Rights (VACR) to deliver help to disadvantaged families at the Vạn Mỹ apartment complex in Ngô Quyền District, Hải Phòng City.

The families had been displaced after strong winds caused two apartment buildings to tilt dangerously.

In collaboration with VACR, the Hải Phòng Children’s Rights Association and the People’s Committee of Vạn Mỹ Ward, SLP Vietnam provided a thousand meals and awarded 50 scholarships to children from these affected families.

Employees at the company also helped directly, by raising funds and preparing aid packages containing essential items such as rice cookers, blankets, rice, milk and medicine. In co-operation with the Yên Bái Children’s Rights Association and local authorities, SLP staff delivered these packages directly to more than 120 households in Nga Quân and Việt Thanh communes in Trấn Yên District and Yên Bái Province.

Director of External Relations at SLP Vietnam, Nguyễn Lê Hằng, said joining to help families in disaster-affected areas in Việt Nam is an essential activity and part of the company's corporate culture.

"We hope to contribute alongside the people of Việt Nam in overcoming the aftermath of the storms, helping everyone quickly stabilise and return to their normal lives," she said.

SLP will continue to roll out further community support initiatives as part of Global Giving Day - GLP’s global corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme. These initiatives underscore the commitment of both GLP and SLP Vietnam to responsible and sustainable operations.
