Sanofi Vietnam has built a warehouse meeting Good Storage Practice standards at the Long Hau Industrial Park in Long An Province.

It is expected to strengthen the French pharmaceutical company’s supply chain and ensure smooth supply of its drugs, vaccines and consumer healthcare products.

It has been built using environment-friendly materials, helping reduce greenhouse effects and heat insulation.

Emin Turan, country lead of Sanofi Vietnam and general manager of foundation Viet Nam & Cambodia, said: “We set very strict standards for storage, transport and handling of goods to ensure the best product quality.”

The warehouse is in a strategic location and has proximity to ports and HCM City’s centre, and ensures quick supply to partners and customers, and meets the rising demands of the modern pharmaceutical industry, the company's leader said.

To optimise space utilisation and improve economic efficiency, it is equipped with two semi-automatic, narrow-aisle pallet trucks imported from Germany that have the capacity to transport over 200 products a day.

Its two separate areas can store various types of products.

The cold storage area for vaccines is maintained at 2-8 degree Celsius and equipped with modern high-ceiling doors and has a capacity of around 500 cubic metres.

The storage area for general medicines is maintained at 15-30 degree Celsius and for pharmaceutical products and a cosmetics line of consumer healthcare at 15-30 degree Celsius.

Sanofi is among seven companies to receive an appreciation certificate from the minister of health for their contributions to COVID-19 prevention last year. — VNS
