Samsung Viet Nam holds blood donation campaign


Some 10,000 employees and executive staff from Samsung Viet Nam will take part in a blood donation programme to be organised through July.

HCM CITY (Biz Hub) – Some 10,000 employees and executive staff from Samsung Viet Nam will take part in a blood donation programme to be organised through July.

As an annual programme of the company, it will take place at Samsung Electronics Viet Nam in the northern province of Bac Ninh, Samsung Electronics Viet Nam Thai Ngueyn in Thai Nguyen and at the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion in Ha Noi.

After seven years of the blood donation campaign, Samsung has donated 13,506 blood units. Last year, nearly 7,200 blood units were donated, accounting for 23 per cent of the total blood received by the institute in July 2015.

In another matter, Samsung has presented nearly VND385 million (US$17,500) to the Red Cross Society of Thai Nguyen and Bac Ninh provinces. Another VND50 million ($2,300) was given to blood cancer research. — VNS
