Samsung Viet Nam's leadership visited five Vietnamese enterprises as part of a consultancy programme led by Samsung's South Korean experts on Thursday.
The companies involved were Zion Plastics Joint Stock Company, Tran Thanh Company Ltd, Smart Tech Vina Company Ltd, JAT Autoparts and Industrial Equipments Production JSC and Viet Nam Autotech Machinery Joint Stock Company.
The assessment was part of a 10-week Samsung programme to support Vietnamese enterprises involved in its component and accessory supply chain.
“I appreciate the initial achievements that businesses have achieved through this improvement consultation. Improvement is an ongoing process, I hope that businesses will continue to implement professional quality management systems to be able to maintain and develop today's achievements,” said Choi Joo Ho, president of Samsung Electronics Viet Nam.
The annual programme was launched in 2015 and has provided consultancy to 260 Vietnamese firms.
To expand the efficiency of the programme at more Vietnamese enterprises, Samsung and the Ministry of Industry and Trade have completed a training course for 207 Vietnamese consultants.
After completing the course, Vietnamese consultants were selected by the ministry to support quality improvements in production for Vietnamese enterprises in the fields of manufacturing, processing and the supporting industry.
The number of Vietnamese tier-1 suppliers for Samsung was increased from only four in 2014 to 42 in 2019 and is expected at 50 by the end of this year. — VNS
