As the 2024-25 school year begins, Sacombank has implemented the 21st edition of its "Nurturing Dreams" scholarship programme worth a total of over VNĐ11 billion (US$441,869) to motivate and support disadvantaged students nationwide.

The beneficiaries are secondary and high school students in places where Sacombank has branches, and second-year students of economics or information technology at universities in HCM City, Hà Nội and the southwestern and north central regions, with academic performance and training results at good levels in 2022-23 for secondary and high school students, and a minimum grade point average of at least 2.5/4 for second-year students.

In July and August, the bank coordinated with secondary and high schools to identify more than 3,900 students for the scholarships nationwide.

Additionally, Sacombank organised a drawing contest to encourage creativity among students.

On September 5, the opening day of the new school year, Sacombank awarded over 3,900 scholarships, each worth VNĐ1.5 million and a backpack, to students.

It also awarded 60 prizes to students who won the drawing contest, with the highest prize valued at VNĐ5 million.

Sacombank will grant full scholarships to 45 second-year students this year, each worth VNĐ75 million in cash and given to them over three years (VNĐ25 million a year) until graduation, along with a backpack.

Students can apply for the scholarships at www.sacombankcareer.com starting from September.

Selected candidates will enter the "Conquest Round" in November through direct interviews before the 45 eligible for the full scholarships are identified.

In addition to granting full scholarships, this year the bank also offers nearly 80 one-year scholarships, each worth VNĐ10 million and a backpack, to students at universities with which it has had long-time ties.

Instituted in 2004, the “Nurturing Dreams” scholarship programme has awarded more than 46,300 scholarships worth a total of nearly VNĐ72 billion so far.

Along with scholarships, Sacombank also provides students with opportunities to participate in annual training, orientation activities, skill-building courses, internships, and job fairs, making a significant contribution to education sector and offering career development opportunities for the younger generation.

In addition to the scholarship programme, the bank runs several meaningful CSR activities throughout the year, including the "Warm Spring" charity programme, and the blood donation.

The "Steps for the Community" race that it has co-organised with the Vietnam Youth Federation has attracted thousands of Sacombank employees and youth nationwide over 16 stages, contributing to building community cultural houses for ethnic minorities. — VNS
