Russian team LC1BC won the international-level Whitehat Grand Prix 2018 cyber security competition, which took place in Ha Noi on November 1.
In the final round, teams had to overcome security breaches in a challenge that lasted eight hours.
LC1BC’s first place finish came with a prize of VND230 million (US$10,000). The Republic of Korea’s Coconut Coffee and Polish team P4 came second and third, earning approximately VND45 million and VND25 million (US$2,000 and 1,000), respectively.
Three teams from Viet Nam – Injoker10K, ACEBEA, and r3s0L – secured the fifth, sixth and eighth place, respectively.
According to Nguyen Huy Dung, deputy head of the Information Security Department under Ministry of Information and Communication, the competition had the highest number of participants among all Whitehat Grand Prix events to date, with 720 teams from 79 countries and territories.
Themed “Legends of Viet Nam,” the content of the competition was developed by Vietnamese and international IT engineers around 18 Vietnamese legends to promote the country’s culture. — VNS
