The project carries a total investment of VNĐ2.5 trillion (equivalent to approximately $99 million), with an expected fleet of 31 aircraft by 2030.

HÀ NỘI — Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính has officially approved the investment policy for the Sun PhuQuoc Airways (SPA) project, and designating Sun PhuQuoc Airways Company Limited — a subsidiary of Sun Group — as the investor.
Under Decision No 979/QĐ-TTg, Sun PhuQuoc Airways will operate as a hybrid commercial airline, combining scheduled flights with charter services, targeting passenger transport between Việt Nam’s major tourism and economic centres and the rest of the world.
The airline’s core mission is to connect international travellers with Phú Quốc Island — one of the region’s most attractive resort destinations.
The project carries a total investment of VNĐ2.5 trillion (approximately $96 million), with a fleet expected to reach 31 aircraft by 2030.
The first flights are scheduled for launch in the fourth quarter of 2025, aiming to expand air connectivity between Phú Quốc and key domestic and international destinations.
The launch of Sun PhuQuoc Airways marks a new strategic step for Sun Group in enhancing its tourism-resort ecosystem. It is also expected to boost Việt Nam’s air transport capacity, drive international tourism, and create further momentum for Phú Quốc’s development.
The island has previously been named the world’s second most beautiful destination after the Maldives by international media, and is increasingly asserting its position as a high-end tourism hub in the region.
Prior to this, Sun Group had already launched Sun Air, a premium private jet service catering to high-end clients, establishing a new standard in personalised aviation in Việt Nam.
With the introduction of Sun PhuQuoc Airways, Sun Group continues to expand its integrated ecosystem of tourism, resorts, and aviation — contributing significantly to the strategy of transforming Phú Quốc into a world-class tourism and aviation centre. — VNS
