HÀ NỘI (Biz Hub) — Nokia of Finland seeks strategic partnerships with Vietnamese telecom operators. The proposal was made on March 7 during a working session with the Ministry of Information and Communications.
During the working session, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyễn Thành Hưng expressed great appreciation for the good relationship between the two countries.
Hưng said that the relationship created a real opportunity for Information and Communications Technology (ICT) development between the two countries. He noted that Finland is famous for information technology development and home to many the world's most reputable companies, such as Nokia . So Vietnamese companies are very eager to cooperate with both the Finish government and Finish companies, according to Hưng.
According to Nguyễn Thi Kim Dung, General Director of Nokia Vietnam, and to Mark Roberts, Customer Business Team Head at Nokia, Nokia has updated its business performance in Việt Nam and other countries.
Nokia expanded its business performance and technology solutions capacity after it merged with Alcatel-Lucent, according to Nokia leaders. They said Nokia can now provide telecom solutions for all telecom providers in Việt Nam.
Nokia is also an expert in broadband solutions and cloud technology. Currently Nokia Vietnam is headquartered in Hà Nội, with a branch in HCM City. Nokia Vietnam has a well-trained human resource staff, plus adequate financial resources for research and development.
Nokia seeks to partner strategically with local telecom providers and has long-range plans to deploy 4G, as well as to develop a broadband programme through 2020, Nokia leaders said. -- VNS
