HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Microsoft Vietnam has launched a programme to provide free Office 365 software to non-governmental organisations (NGOs) on Tuesday in Ha Noi.

The Office 365 for Nonprofits, designed for NGOs, will help these organizations access information easily and with a high level of security, thanks to Microsoft Office applications for smartphones, personal computers and tablets. It also includes Office automated installation without removing older versions.

Vu Minh Tri, general director of Microsoft Viet Nam, said Microsoft had offered software and cash support over the past 30 years for not-for-profit organisations, and this free software was a new and important investment for Microsoft among the global non-profit community. "It will help NGOs to manage information technology effectively so they can focus all their resources to assist the community, bringing good values to society," he said.

Interested NGOs can learn about the programme at www.microsoft/office365nonprofits.

The programme has been carried out in 41 countries and is expected to be available in 90 nations by July 2014. — VNS
