HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) and MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation (MobiFone) launched the tourism website Halo Vietnam (www.halovietnam.vn) in Ha Noi on June 26.
The portal is a product of the co-operation between the two companies, which aim to support each other in boosting tourist attractions in Viet Nam, developing the country's domestic tourism, and improving businesses and customer service.
The website will provide information about destinations, hotels, restaurants and amusement services in Viet Nam, Nguyen Manh Hung, deputy director of the corporation, said at the ceremony.
It will allow visitors to assess tourism destinations and give feedback on Viet Nam's tourism environment in order to improve the two sides' service quality.
Customers will be able to book and register tourism services online via Halo Vietnam in the coming time.
According to the agreement, the Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism and Mobifone Telecommunications Corporation will provide information about Viet Nam tourism on the portal for MobiFone users; frequently update information about the country's tourism for domestic and international MobiFone users; implement e-commerce in the tourism sector in the future; and promote the Halo Vietnam tourism portal.
Viet Nam Administration of Tourism Director Nguyen Van Tuan said smartphones were an effective way of promoting tourism.
E-marketing was an important part of the administration's marketing strategy, as visitors tended to organise trips by themselves instead of booking tour operators, he added.
