MSD Vietnam inaugurated a new office at the Capital Place building, 29 Lieu Giai Street, Ba Dinh District, Ha Noi on July 7.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen highlighted the contributions of MSD in improving the health of Vietnamese people over the past years. He hoped the company will continue to grow firmly and implement more partnerships and investments in the pharmaceutical industry in line with the direction and strategy of the Government of Viet Nam.

MSD has committed to striving relentlessly to make a difference in the health and well-being of the people through public–private initiatives and address critical unmet healthcare needs. Prominent cooperation programmes that bring long-term impact and tangible benefits include the MSD for Mothers programme to improve maternal health, the Anti-Microbial Stewardship (AMS) programme to address antibiotic resistance, the Patient Access Programme launched in 2018, which aimed to improve eligible cancer patient’s access to innovative cancer treatments, and educational programmes to raise awareness and prevent HPV-related diseases.

“Viet Nam is among the critical markets for MSD in the Asia Pacific region. MSD continues to invest in strengthening capacity to meet the growing needs of the Vietnamese people, building a working environment that attracts local talents, and partnering with key stakeholders to solve healthcare challenges," said President of MSD Asia Pacific David Peacock.

This July, MSD will also inaugurate a newly expanded warehouse in Cat Lai Industrial Zone, Thu Duc City, with four times the capacity compared to the current warehouse. The new warehouse will significantly increase the storage capacity of vaccines and drugs to respond in a timely manner and meet the increasing healthcare needs of Vietnamese people.

Managing Director of MSD Vietnam Jennifer Cox added that the grand opening of the new office in Ha Noi and the expansion of the storage warehouse were key milestones in realising the company’s aspiration to become the most trusted and admired healthcare partner in Viet Nam. — VNS
