MoU signed to advance community development, sustainability


Long Son Petrochemicals Co., Ltd. (LSP) in Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province, a leading and trusted petrochemical company committed to sustainable development, on Monday (February 17) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with 38 organisations including local authorities and business partners for the social contribution partnership “Sharing for Society”.

BÀ RỊA-VŨNG TÀU — Long Sơn Petrochemicals Co., Ltd. (LSP) in Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu Province, a leading and trusted petrochemical company committed to sustainable development, on February 17 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with 38 organisations including local authorities and business partners for the social contribution partnership “Sharing for Society”.

This agreement will support community development in the province and reinforce LSP and its partner’s dedication to social responsibility and building a better future.

Kulachet Dharachandra, general director of LSP, said this MoU represents a shared vision between LSP and its partners to make a real and lasting difference by working together.

It marks a significant step in LSP's journey to balance business success with social and environmental responsibility.

This initiative will create programmes to improve the lives of local people.

“We will focus on six key areas: Cultural preservation, Environmental protection, Safety, Health & Well-being, Youth development, and Economic prosperity. By combining our resources, knowledge, and skills, we aim to build a more sustainable and prosperous future for everyone,” he said.

Last year, LSP collaborated with 16 local authorities and business partners on social programmes in Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu, especially in Long Sơn Commune.

These collaborations resulted in 12 impactful activities aligned with the six key areas, with approximately VNĐ12 billion (US$470,000) invested, creating positive and lasting change.

In 2025, LSP will expand these efforts by working with 38 partners, including 16 partners in 2024, to launch meaningful programmes for local communities.

Long Sơn Petrochemicals Co., Ltd. (LSP) is located in Long Sơn Commune of Vũng Tàu City in Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu Province.

The LSP complex comprises a world-scale olefins plant with total capacity of 1.35 million tonnes per year, three polyolefin plants, including HDPE, LLDPE, and PP plants, with a total capacity of 1.4 million tonnes per year, a specialised tank terminal, a central utilities plant, and other related facilities.
