Motor Show 2024 opens in HCM City

The highly anticipated Vietnam Motor Show 2024 that opened in HCM City on Wednesday focuses on the latest advancements in green energy solutions, emissions reduction and safety technologies.

The five-day event at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre has attracted 19 vehicle brands and nearly 300 from supporting industries.

With the theme "Accelerate to Green," the expo shines a spotlight on electric vehicles and green technologies.

Nakano Keita, chairman of the Việt Nam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA), said: “The 2024 Vietnam Motor Show is not only a convergence of renowned automotive and motorcycle brands but also a testament to the transformation of this industry in Việt Nam.

"We believe that with the Government’s support and the efforts of businesses, Việt Nam will make significant progress in achieving its net zero target by 2050.”

The event will see the launch and display of new models, including some making their debut in the country, such as the All-New M6 Pro MPV from GAC Motor with two luxury versions, the 1.5 Turbo GS and 1.5 Turbo GL, with a range of advanced safety technologies.

G50, D90 and IM LS7 – Intelligent MG are three entirely new models from MG.

Subaru has brought the all-new Crosstrek SUV with its youthful and stylish appearance.

The new Isuzu D-Max 2024 pickup truck from Suzuki features a bold design, flexible performance on rugged terrain and impressive fuel efficiency.

Mitsubishi is showing off its special 30th anniversary editions of the Xpander, Xforce and Attrage, Skoda its luxury Superb L&K, and GAZ its new generation of the New NEXT series high-performance vehicles equipped with modern diesel engines that meet EURO-5 emissions standards.

Breakthrough green vehicles equipped with the most advanced technologies are also on show, such as the large, fully electric IM LS7 MPV – Intelligent MG from MG.

Honda unveils the sporty Civic e:HEV RS equipped with a powerful and eco-friendly hybrid engine, and two electric motorcycles.

Skoda has also brought other premium products including the Octavia vRS, Enyaq Coupe vRS and the next-generation Kodiaq.

Toyota has the fully electric FT-3e concept vehicle and a range of hybrid products, with the highlight being the all-new 2024 Toyota Camry.

Suzuki has the XL7 hybrid, a green standout in its product lineup in Việt Nam.

There are also motorcycles, including large-displacement vehicles from renowned brands like Harley-Davidson, Triumph Motorcycles, KTM, Husqvarna Motorcycles, and SYM.

With an exhibition area of nearly 25,000sq.m, the Vietnam Motor Show offers special performances and interactive activities, including test-driving sessions and technology demonstrations.

Visitors can buy entry tickets directly at the SECC or on the official website.

Through the expo’s five days, manufacturers will host special presentations, introducing new models and advanced technologies.

The event is jointly organised by the Việt Nam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA), the Việt Nam Automobile Importers Association and the Việt Nam Motorcycle Manufacturers Association. — VNS
