HA NOI (Biz Hub) — As many as 704 enterprises have indicated a desire to participate in the first-ever Online Friday or Online Shopping Day 2014 on December 5.
Nguyen Thanh Hung, chairman of the Vietnam E-commerce Association (VECOM), revealed the number of enterprises that have so far registered for the event at a seminar on online marketing here on November 25.
He also said Google, the global Internet search engine, contacted event organisers to support them regarding Online Friday.
Google has set up a team to provide consultancy services on online marketing strategies for participating companies.
At the seminar, Trinh Quang Chung, Google Asia-Pacific industry manager, recommended that enterprises pay much attention to two indices: return on investment and cost per action.
"When doing business online, you need to identify the values of online business, targets and opportunities," he said, adding that companies should have a measurement system to increase their understanding of customers.
Chung recommended that companies make their mobile sites effective to bring much experience to users.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade's Vietnam E-Commerce and Information Technology Agency (VECITA) and VECOM organised the event, which aims to boost online shopping and expand the e-commerce market in Viet Nam. — VNS
