Mobiistar enters Indian market


Vietnamese mobile phone brand Mobiistar is set to start selling in India on the country’s biggest online store, Flipkart, by the end of the month.

Vietnamese mobile phone brand Mobiistar is set to start selling in India on the country’s biggest online store, Flipkart, by the end of the month.

It will launch its Star Selfie series smartphones Mobiistar XQ Dual at under US$130 and CQ at around $73.

Talking about the launch, Ngo Nguyen Kha, co-founder and CEO of Mobiistar said: “Mobiistar has received tremendous love and popularity in Viet Nam and knowing that it is an opportune time to enter India, we are very excited.

“We studied the Indian market where the consumer, while choosing a smartphone, is often faced with the dilemma of features and quality and price.”

Flipkart, recently acquired by giant US retailer Walmart, said in a recent press release it has entered into a long-term tie-up with Mobiistar.

Ayyappan Rajagopal, Flipkart’s senior director, mobiles, said: “Mobiistar’s Selfie Star series has truly democratised selfies. Along with a great performance, this unique offering from Mobiistar has taken the entire budget segment to the next level.

“This is in line with our overall Flipkart objective of ensuring great smartphones for every Indian.” — VNS
