HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The United States-based Microsoft Corporation will continue to support information technology in four major fields for the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) in the near future.

According to a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed on March 6 in Ha Noi, the corporation will improve information technology infrastructure, cyber security and cloud computing, and develop human resources for Viet Nam.

The ministry's Viet Nam Computer Emergency Response Team also signed an MOU to enhance cooperation on security in the context of the current unsafe cyberspace.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Cesar Cernuda, president of Microsoft Asia-Pacific, said that the MOU once again ensured strong commitment of the group to support Viet Nam in becoming stronger on IT globally and to boost the development of the nation in general and the economic sectors, in particular.

Earlier, the ministry signed a strategic agreement in the period between 2007 and 2010 with Microsoft and signed the first MOU in 2010. These have brought positive impacts on information technology development in Viet Nam. — VNS
