HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Microsoft Viet Nam and the Viet Nam Information Security Association (VNISA) will co-operate in strengthening information security and privacy in Viet Nam.

Under a memorandum of understanding signed in Ha Noi today, VNISA and Microsoft Viet Nam will work closely together to regularly update as well as share security issues and the best cybersecurity practices from Viet Nam and across the world. These include information on security breaches, cybercrime and malware, as well as the latest hacking attacks and Vietnamese legal regulations on cybersecurity.

Microsoft will also collaborate with VNISA in helping Vietnamese organisations to implement security solutions in their business, as well as in developing talent for ICT Security in Viet Nam, especially in the mobile and cloud areas.

"Cybercrime trends are changing and becoming more sophisticated, gradually shifting from targeting individuals to organisations, and even government bodies," said Cesar Cernuda, President of Microsoft Asia Pacific.

"The partnership between Microsoft Viet Nam and VNISA to strengthen privacy and cybersecurity is essential for creating a safer technology environment for consumers, businesses and the government in Viet Nam," he added.

In his speech at the signing ceremony, VNISA President Nguyen Duy Ngoc said that cybersecurity is emerging as a key concern for government bodies, organisations and enterprises in recent years.

Countries all over the world are looking into solutions for digital borders and digital sovereignty. In line with this trend, the Vietnamese government has also been making efforts to enhance information security development, while improving ICT applications and development, Ngoc added. —VNS
