Lotte Group awards 50 scholarships to university students

Lotte Mart Vietnam on behalf of the Lotte Group and Lotte Scholarship Foundation on April 27 has awarded scholarships worth US$10,000 to 50 outstanding students at eight HCM City universities.

The recipients are third and fourth year students at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, University of Economics of HCM City, Finance and Marketing University, University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology, University of Food Industry, Nong Lam University, Hoa Sen University, and Ton Duc Thang University.

The Lotte Scholarship Foundation was established in 1983 by the chairman of the Lotte Group, Shin Gyuk-Ho, who was aware of the significance of education to future generations.

Since 2008, the Lotte Scholarship Foundation has granted scholarships to more than 1,500 outstanding students in Viet Nam and other ASEAN member countries, with total scholarship value reaching more than VNĐ20 billion ($877,192).

The scholarship beneficiaries will also have the opportunity to work for Lotte Group’s subsidiary companies after graduation, including Lotte Mart, Lotteria and LotteCinema. — VNS
