US based fast-food chain Lee's Sandwiches has launched a fundraising campaign to assist COVID-19 victims in HCM City where new cases and deaths are on the rise every day.
US based fast-food chain Lee's Sandwiches has launched a fundraising campaign to assist COVID-19 victims in HCM City where new cases and deaths are on the rise every day.
Lee’s Sandwiches is running the campaign as a call for help from August 8 to August 15, 2021. The company expects to mobilise at least US$100,000 from its staff, customers and the Vietnamese community in the United States to help COVID-19 victims in HCM City.
“On behalf of Lee's Sandwiches, I wholeheartedly wish those impacted by the virus a full recovery and good health. The campaign is our effort to help HCM City recover and overcome this unprecedented pandemic, in the hope of bringing back normal life for the city,” said Chieu Le, CEO of Lee's Sandwiches International, Inc.
The company will donate 100 per cent of their sales from Lee’s Coffee products directly to the Viet Nam Red Cross Society to support recovery efforts in HCM City.

As of Thursday evening, Viet Nam recorded 9,667 new COVID-19 infections, while a further 326 people have died of coronavirus complications. HCM City – the country's current largest COVID-19 hotspot – recorded 3,841 cases, followed by neighbouring provinces of Binh Duong (3,028), Dong Nai (1,071), and Long An (354). — VNS
