Forty-five South Korean firms in sectors like manufacturing, transport, logistics, trading, entertainment, and garment and textile are taking part in a Korea-Viet Nam job fair that opened on December 15 at HCM City’s Nikko Saigon Hotel.
Organised by the South Korean consulate in the city and the Korea Trade and Investment Promotion Agency, the Job Fair for Global Talents is aimed at helping Korean companies with operations in Viet Nam hire high-quality human resources.
The companies include CJ Group Vietnam, Lotte Cinema, Lotte Vietnam Shopping JSC, E-Mart Vietnam, Taekwang Vina, and Global Hantex, and they hope to hire 375 HR specialists, sales manager/assistant and staff, web designers, marketers, store staff, interpreters, production engineers, merchandisers, accountants and general affairs managers, finance managers, and others.
Kim Jae Hyun, HR and administration director at Lotte Vietnam Shopping JSC, said Lotte Mart would recruit at least 10 people at the fair for HR, sourcing, sales, marketing and other positions.
Park Sang-Hyup, head of the Korea Trade and Investment Promotion Agency, said an increasing number of Korean firms are investing in Viet Nam, resulting in big demand for workers in many sectors.
Currently around one million people work for Korean companies in Viet Nam, he added.
According to the Foreign Investment Agency, South Korea has been the biggest foreign investor in Việt Nam this year with total investment of US$5.29 billion or 29.2 per cent of all FDI.
The job fair, which was first held in the city in 2013, got positive feedback from the South Korean businesses as well as the Vietnamese candidates, 1,000 of whom took part. — VNS
