The Japanese Business Association of HCM City (JBAH) has donated more than VND334 million (US$16,000) for building two inter-commune concrete bridges in the Mekong Delta province of Long An.

Opened to traffic last Saturday (Feb 11), the bridges have made it easier for people to commute in isolated areas of Tan Thanh District, enabling children to go to school safely.

To mark their opening, JBAH also donated gifts like bicycles and school equipment to 150 local children.

Earlier this year JBAH provided equipment for daily use to needy children supported at the Que Huong Charity Centre in Binh Duong Province. — VNS
