HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Sixty-nine out of 85 products and services will be honoured at the Sao Khue Awards, an annual ceremony held for the information technology and software sectors.
Initiated by the Viet Nam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) in 2003, the Sao Khue Awards honour organisations and individuals that contribute greatly to the development of the IT and software industries in Viet Nam.
Only one product meeting the criteria of high turnover, growth rate and creativity, and promising development and application in resolving major issues in socio-economic development received the five-star rating this year.
The five-star rated product is related to the public transport sector.

The awards this year saw a trend of IT applications for handling hot issues such as healthcare, education, public administration and agriculture, besides accounting, human resources management and retail.
In addition, the trend of social, mobile, analytics and cloud (SMAC) has been welcomed and strongly developed in Viet Nam, as mobile phone applications have become popular in the country, VINASA said.
VINASA Chairman Truong Gia Binh said the award saw increasing turnover from IT outsourcing for the international market. It also recognised rapid moves being made by Vietnamese businesses to catch up with the development of cloud computing services.
"In the context of economic difficulties, most companies that received the awards saw relatively high growth rate of up to 200 per cent," Binh said.
