HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Internet capacity between Viet Nam and other countries was restored on January 5 following the repair of the Asia-American Gateway (AAG) undersea cable earlier that day.
Earlier, Internet providers in Viet Nam had expected the cable cutout to be welded on January 9. During the breakdown, some 70 per cent of capacity had been restored to increase the connection speed for users.
The cable cutout was found 278 kilometers off the Vung Tau City's coast on December 20, on the line from Viet Nam to Hong Kong. — VNS
