The expansion to Viet Nam marks CP-Meiji's presence in seven countries.
Ikigai Viet Nam Commercial Joint stock company and CP-Meiji (owned by Thailand’s leading corporation Charoen Pokphand Foods) on Sunday signed a contract to give Ikigai Viet Nam exclusive rights to distribute Meiji’s dairy products (except milk powder) in Viet Nam.
The expansion to Viet Nam marks CP-Meiji's presence in seven countries, a move made thanks to the potential of Viet Nam’s market with its rapid growth, infrastructure development and buying power of consumers.
For the first phase, Ikigai Viet Nam and CP-Meiji are launching three core product categories including pasteurised milk, cup yoghurt and drinking yoghurt. The products are 100 per cent imported in original packaging from Thailand, distributed to popular retail franchises such as Vinmart, AEON malls and others.
Salilrut Pongpanite, Managing Director of CP-Meiji Thailand, said “CP-Meiji and Ikigai Viet Nam both see the potential of Meiji dairy products in Viet Nam, as Vietnamese people’s awareness of health-related topics and life quality are increasing day by day. With great importance in delivering our business commitment in contributing to consumer health and wellbeing and standard commitment of 'quality is no compromise', we employed Meiji Japan standard protocol in searching for the right partner distributor in each market.”
Nguyen Thu Giang, CEO of Ikigai Viet Nam said “Over the past two years, the company has researched, analysed and pursued the project of bringing Meiji’s pasteurised milk to Viet Nam, as we wish to provide consumers with more qualified and premium selections. The key uniqueness that Meiji offers to consumers comprise of products made from quality fresh cow milk produced using 'Pasteurised and Technology', to deliver product freshness without sacrificing taste and most importantly the product lasts for longer without preservatives.” — VNS
