Hyundai e-bike and motorcycle debuts in Viet Nam


Hyundai Ebike of South Korea has recently introduced Emotion, an electric motorcycle, and e-bike models i-City 10 and i-City 20 to the Vietnamese market this year.

DA NANG (Biz Hub) — Hyundai Ebike of South Korea has recently introduced Emotion, an electric motorcycle, and e-bike models i-City 10 and i-City 20 to the Vietnamese market this year.

The company, which began operations in Viet Nam last May, has deployed its 3S (sales-service-spare parts) design agents in Ha Noi, HCM City and Bac Ninh, as well as Nam Dinh, Hai Phong, Hung Yen and Hai Duong. The agents aim to sell 2,000 to 4,000 units this year.

The two e-bike models are well-equipped with an aluminium alloy frame, as well as Shimano electric starter, Velo saddle, Tektro brake and Kenda tires.

The e-bike weighs 20kg and is equipped with a Lithium-ion 36 volt battery that needs charging after 120km The e-motorcycle has a speed of 55km per hour and needs charging after 80km.

The company is offering the i-City 10 at VND16.99 million (US$809) each and the i-City 20 at VND18.99 million ($904) each, including Value Added Tax. It is offering the e-motorcycle at VND20.49 million ($976) each, with a 20,000km or two-year warranty.

The company plans to deploy more 3S design agents to Da Nang City for the central regional market by the end of this year.

Hyundai Ebike will also design a two-seat e-bike with rear and front suspension systems at VND13.5 million (more than $640) each in Viet Nam beginning next month. — VNS
