Huawei Vietnam, in partnership with the Vietnam Digital Communications Association (VDCA) and the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT), have officially unveiled the 'Seeds for the Future 2024' initiative.

This programme offers an array of new learning modules, hands-on experiences, and enticing rewards, including six scholarships for immersing in cutting-edge technologies and Chinese culture.

Participants will have the chance to explore the Huawei Group headquarters in Shenzhen, engage in the prestigious 'Asia-Pacific Digital Talent Summit' in Guangxi, China, and potentially secure backing for Tech4Good startup ventures.

Additionally, they can look forward to a captivating Digital Tour across China in 2025.

This initiative, announced on Tuesday, represents a premier opportunity for tech enthusiasts and aspiring students. As the 9th installment of Huawei's renowned programme in Việt Nam, 'Seeds for the Future 2024' has revamped its curriculum and activities to provide a wealth of practical learning experiences, empowering talents to master digital technologies.

In particular, the current edition of the programme will choose 40 students for the initial phase, engaging them in enlightening sightseeing and interactive sessions focused on technology and startup insights alongside industry specialists in Việt Nam.

Among them, the top six students will delve into the realms of cutting-edge technologies including 5G, AI, Cloud computing, Digital Power and more, through dedicated study and exploration sessions.

Launched globally in 2008, the 'Seeds for the Future' stands as Huawei's flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. By 2024, this programme has collaborated successfully with over 500 universities across 140 countries, involving more than 18,000 exceptional students.

Since its inception in 2015, Huawei Vietnam has granted close to 180 scholarships to exceptional Vietnamese students from prestigious institutions such as Hanoi University of Science and Technology, HCM City University of Science, Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology.

Over eight years, the Seeds project has evolved into an annual tech hub, attracting numerous universities nationwide. This initiative has laid a crucial groundwork for budding generations of tech talents to comprehend industry innovations, foster connections, exchange inventive concepts with global peers and cultivate an entrepreneurial ethos stemming from technology.

Macky Zhang, General Director of Huawei Vietnam, said: “Guided by 'In Việt Nam, for Việt Nam,' Huawei aims to advance the tech sector and national digital transformation by cultivating and developing talents. In this year's Seeds for the Future programme, we continue to scout promising individuals, nurturing their tech acumen to shape them into future leaders.”

Representatives from the VDCA and PTIT commended the decade-long accomplishments of the programme, emphasising its dual focus on empowering students in digital proficiency and fostering a robust talent ecosystem for Việt Nam. This initiative aligns closely with Prime Minister's Decision No. 749/QĐ-TTg on the 'National Digital Transformation Programme to 2025, with a vision to 2030'. — VNS
