The 9th Information and Communications Technology Awards were given away on December 20 by the HCM City Department of Information and Communications.
The 9th Information and Communications Technology Awards were given away on December 20 by the HCM City Department of Information and Communications.
Eleven units and companies, one individual and eight outstanding students were chosen for the awards from out of 67 candidates.
Their awards were in six different categories: software developed by companies; hardware made by companies; value-added services developed by companies; ICT applications; individuals and groups who have made great contributions to the development of the city’s ICT sector; and students in ICT majors with outstanding academic achievements.
This year the awards focus on digital technology in the context of HCM City planning to become a smart city by 2020 by using ICT.
“The city will help popularise the award-winning products, solutions and services to make people’s lives better and more convenient, improve e-governance and encourage investment,” Duong Anh Duc, the department’s director, said at the awards ceremony.
He said next year, the 10th, there would be a major review of the awards by his department, which would consider improvements and changes to make it more practical and attractive.
In the last eight years, 77 ICT products, solutions and services have received the awards and 34 groups, 10 individuals and 25 students have been honoured. — VNS
