HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has assigned the Government Inspectorate to clarify a complaint made by Chairman of Dai Nam JSC Huynh Uy Dung about Le Thanh Cung, chairman of the Binh Duong People's Committee.

In a letter sent to the Government last month, Dung denounced Cung for not granting permission for one of his projects in the Song Than 3 Industrial Park, causing great losses for his company and its workers. However, Cung rejected Dung's claims and said the businessman had intentionally fabricated the story.

Deputy PM Phuc has told the Government Inspectorate to co-ordinate with the ministries of Construction and Natural Resources and Environment to investigate the contents of Dung's letter and propose measures to solve the problem.

The inspectors will provide feedback to the Government in December this year.

Related to this issue, speaking at the Government's monthly meeting last month, Minister and Chairman of the Government Office Vu Duc Dam (who is now Deputy Prime Minister) said the Government wanted enterprises and people to report problems in State management. In an effort to ensure a fresh investment environment, the Government will consider and severely discipline related individuals if they are found to have violated the law.

Dung is the owner of the 700ha Dai Nam tourism area with investment capital of about VND6 trillion (US$285.7 million) in the southern province of Binh Duong. He also has investment concerns in other projects including Dai Nam Wonderland, Di An Administration Centre and the Song Than 1, Song Than 2 and Song Than 3 industrial parks.

He grabbed the limelight some months ago by announcing he was transferring all his property worth trillions of dong to his one-year-old son.
