HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Dairy company Friesland Campina Viet Nam has received the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit for contributing to the development of new rural areas during the 2010-15 period.
The company's contribution included a programme for sustainable development of the milk industry in rural areas and a project run by the Viet Nam Red Cross Society to give cows to poor families.
The programme for the development of the milk industry began in 1996 to help farmers rear cows sustainably. The company has entered into partnership co-operation with farmers to supply animal feed and technical services to them, as well as help them get loans and scientific knowledge about breeding animals. Thanks to these efforts, the farmers have improved the quality of fresh milk and production efficiency.
