HA NOI (Biz Hub) — A delegation of six French companies specialising in information technology (IT) for the financial sector will visit Ha Noi on November 25 and 26 to investigate opportunities for joint ventures.

The two-day event will allow the foreign delegation to meet with local enterprises to discuss commercial and technological partnerships.

The visit comes as IT products for the financial sector are in high demand, with an average expected growth rate of 16 per cent between 2012 and 2016.

The visit is also in line with Government efforts to strengthen electronic payment services in Viet Nam, following a master plan approved by the Prime Minister in 2011 for the 2012-15 period.

Under the plan, up to 250,000 points of sale will be established nationwide, with aims to increase usage from 20 per cent to 40 per cent of customers with personal bank accounts.

The plan, organized by the French Trade Commission UBIFRANCE in Viet Nam, is a part of a range of activities organised to celebrate the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries. — VNS
