FPT Software cooperates with Japanese company

DA NANG (Biz Hub) — FPT Software company signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) in software development covering 2014-16 with Japan's Recruit Technologies company on December 15 in Da Nang City.

According to the memorandum, FPT Software, a member company of FPT Corporation, will employ nearly 2,000 Vietnamese software developers, computer engineers and interpreters to work for the Japanese partner.

Further, Recruit Technologies authorizes the Vietnamese company to carry out software development services as part of a lump-sum package, from research to maintenance. Through the agreement, FPT Software hopes to expand its participation in Japan and expects to earn revenues of $200 million by 2017.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, FPT Corporation general director Bui Quang Ngoc said: "Recruit Technologies's choosing Da Nang matches our development strategy. We will continue to invest in improving high technology infrastructure in Da Nang and FPT University will contribute to developing human resources, while meeting the high demands of the city. We will also centralize the best resources for the cooperation, heading to long-term development."

FPT Software began cooperating with Recruit Technologies in 2012. After one year, FPT began putting together projects for its Japanese partner, while employing about 100 people.

The agreement will contribute to developing information technologies in Da Nang City. Van Huu Chien, chairman of the city People's Committee, said: "We welcomes Japanese investors, especially investors in information technology, to develop Da Nang along with us, bringing long lasting value for the two sides." — VNS
