HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The FPT Information Systems (FIS) of Viet Nam announced on January 23 that the firm has won a bid to provide Financial Management Information Systems (FMIS) for Cambodia's State Treasury.

With a total value of nearly US$10 million, the FMIS project sets a record for being the most valuable foreign contract bagged by FPT.

FIS, a member company of FPT Corporation, will implement the project at 31 central and provincial branches of the State Treasury. It will be responsible for the maintenance of the 26-month FMIS project for two years.

The project will help Cambodia to improve the efficiency of financial management with the availability of correct and clear information as well as budget and treasury management, thanks to a centralised database.

According to FIS general director Duong Dung Trieu, taking successful solutions abroad is important in its strategy for going global. "This bid will encourage other teams in the global market. We will implement and complete the FMIS project in Cambodia, while maintaining the highest quality to make it a good reference point for other bids abroad," he said.

FIS has had experience with providing consultation and implementing similar projects, such as the one on personal income tax management for the General Department of Taxation under the Viet Nam's Ministry of Finance.

Globalisation has been identified as a major target for FIS till 2020. Its business turnover is expected to reach $200 million in 2018, with the major markets including the US, Japan, Laos and Cambodia. — VNS
