Export Development Canada (EDC) and global technology leader FPT Corporation have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) under EDC’s Market Leaders Partnership programme.

This new partnership highlights a shared commitment to enhancing trade relations between Canada and Việt Nam, with a focus on key sectors such as information and communications technology (ICT), healthcare, retail, and financial services. Both organisations are dedicated to advancing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices.

Under the MOU, FPT will utilise its extensive network and expertise in Việt Nam to assist at least 20 Canadian companies over the next three years. The collaboration will help these companies enter the Vietnamese market, establish valuable business connections, and explore co-investment opportunities in sectors like ICT, healthcare, and more.

EDC will support FPT by offering access to Canada’s extensive exporter and investor networks. Additionally, EDC will provide innovative financing solutions and facilitate collaborations between Canadian companies and FPT’s subsidiaries. Both organizations will also engage in sharing best practices for ESG, aiding FPT’s ongoing sustainability efforts.

The partnership emphasises a mutual dedication to sustainability, with FPT providing Canadian businesses with access to its ESG frameworks. This will help foster sustainable business practices in their operations, as both sides continue to work together toward long-term environmental and social goals. — VNS
