E-wallet ZaloPay has received the ISO 27001 certification for information security management from the UK’s DAS Certification Services Ltd.

It is the second e-wallet in the country to receive the certification, which is based on a list of 18 information security standards.

Truong Cam Thanh, chairwoman of ZaloPay, said: “Our first priority is to ensure information security for customers.”

ZaloPay also meets payment card industry data security standards. It adopts tokenisation technology, which is the process of replacing sensitive data with unique identification symbols that retain all the essential information about the data without compromising its security.

ZaloPay, developed by ZION Joint Stock Company, was introduced in 2016 to pay electricity, water, internet, and other bills in partnership with 42 banks and card organisations and thousands of stores and restaurants. — VNS
