Saigon Co-op opened on September 6 a new Co.opmart supermarket in HCM City’s District 8, the 44th in the city and 131st in the country.

Situated inside Green River apartments in Phạm Thế Hiển Street, it has an area of nearly 2,500sq.m and sells nearly 20,000 items, including fresh, dried, processed and ready-to-eat foods, cosmetics, clothes, household utensils, and toys for kids.

The store also sells online via Co.op Online, Facebook and Zalo.

Nguyễn Ngọc Thắng, deputy general director of Saigon Co.op, said Co.opmart Phạm Thế Hiển is based on the streamlined Co.opmart model with a smaller area and business lines than other Co.opmart stores.

“[It] will be a distribution point for price-stabilised and high-quality Vietnamese goods, providing people in the district with one more place to visit for a variety of goods with clear origins, guaranteed quality and affordable prices.”

In addition to offering promotions under the “35 Years of Proud of Vietnamese Products” programme like other Saigon Co.op’s stores, the new supermarket is also offering big inaugural promotions, including discounts of up to 50 per cent on more than 2,000 products, a lucky draw with prizes worth VNĐ100 million such as Honda Air Blade, Samsung side-by-side fridge, gold, and shopping vouchers.

At the opening ceremony, Saigon Co.op donated a charity house worth VNĐ60 million to the Việt Nam Fatherland Front Committee of the district’s Ward 6. — VNS
