A cooking show and cocktail dinner featuring imported pork products from Spain was held on April 24 at the Caravelle Sai Gon Hotel in HCM City.
The event, which aimed to introduce imported Spanish pork and strengthen business relationships between Viet Nam and Spain, was organised by the Spanish Inter-professional Agro-Food Organisation of White Porcine (INTERPORC) and the Economic and Commercial Office of the Spanish Embassy in Viet Nam.
Famous Vietnamese chef Nguyen Dieu Thao led the cooking show, demonstrating three dishes with processed pork as the main ingredient.
Spanish pork is well known for its premium quality and authentic taste, which is due to a careful selection of breeds and efficient monitoring process, according to Juan Manuel Lopez, INTERPORC’s Trade Chief Officer and Deputy Head.
Spain is also among the top five pork exporters to Viet Nam.
Last year, Spain’s exports of fresh and frozen pork to Viet Nam amounted to nearly US$7 million, up 50 per cent year-on-year, he said, adding that pork exports were expected to increase in years to come. — VNS
