HÀ NỘI — Cisco has launched a new line of data centre Smart Switches, integrating networking and security services into a compact all-in-one solution.
This includes the Cisco Smart Switch with Hypershield, which embeds security directly into the network fabric, transforming how AI data centres are secured.
The switch, powered by AMD Pensando DPUs, aims to meet the growing demands of AI workloads by providing a faster, more flexible, and a secure network infrastructure. With AI applications expanding, data centres are facing complexity in design and management. Cisco’s solution simplifies this by merging compute, storage, networking and security, enabling automated operations and predictive management.
“We’re embedding security directly into the data centre fabric, allowing for scalable and secure infrastructures that can support growing AI demands,” said Dzung Nguyen Nhu, Country Leader for Cisco in Việt Nam, Laos, and Cambodia.
"Cisco's innovative approach to data centre design, leveraging leadership AMD Pensando DPUs, marks a significant milestone in transforming enterprise infrastructure to address the evolving security demands of data networks while dealing with the fast-paced AI deployments,” said Soni Jiandani, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Networking Technology and Solutions Group, AMD.
Cisco’s new Smart Switches simplify data centre architectures by combining essential services within the network fabric rather than adding separate devices. The architecture integrates Cisco’s Silicon One and AMD DPUs, allowing for quicker adaptation to business needs without extra hardware. The switches also offer advanced security features like stateful segmentation, IPSec encryption, DDoS protection, and more.
