HÀ NỘI — Amazon Web Services (AWS) Việt Nam praised the country’s rapid digital transformation, highlighting its commitment to continuous innovation and the adoption of cutting-edge technologies, according to AWS General Director Eric Yeo.

He emphasised that Việt Nam is at the forefront of digital change in the region and expressed the company's excitement to contribute to this progress by providing generative AI solutions to help businesses succeed in this evolving landscape.

AWS is expanding its capabilities with generative AI through its Amazon Bedrock platform, offering flexibility and choice with models like Claude, Llama 2 and the newly added DeepSeek.

“As we look ahead to 2025 and beyond, AWS is committed to expanding infrastructure, fostering skills development and supporting responsible AI adoption in Việt Nam,” Yeo added.

Hoàng Hiếu, Head of Solution Architecture at AWS Việt Nam, said that in a major move, AWS introduced Amazon Nova, a service that helps businesses quickly build cost-effective applications while seamlessly integrating with their existing systems and data.

Generative AI is reshaping industries, but no single model fits every need. Amazon Nova offers a variety of models to address different challenges, giving businesses the flexibility to choose what works best for them.

The Amazon Nova suite includes Nova Micro, a low-latency model optimised for text processing; Nova Lite, a cost-effective multimodal model for image, video and text processing; Nova Pro, a high-performance model balancing accuracy, speed and cost; and Nova Premier, the most powerful model for complex tasks and custom model training.

AWS has also launched Amazon Nova Canvas for studio-quality image creation and Nova Reel for high-quality video production, helping businesses tap into creative AI solutions.

Driving transformation

Hiếu told Việt Nam News that AWS has been pivotal in helping Việt Nam’s leading banks leverage technology. For instance, VIB built ViePro, Việt Nam’s first generative AI banking assistant, on AWS. This app is expected to boost customer service productivity by 40 per cent, expand the customer base by 20 per cent and reduce operating costs.

Techcombank also used AWS solutions to upskill over 2,800 employees, cutting service delivery times by 90 per cent.

“We are focused on delivering value through innovative technologies,” Hiếu said. “Our new services and updates are designed to help businesses achieve more, faster.”

At AWS re:Invent 2024, the firm introduced key Amazon Bedrock updates, including Automated Reasoning Checks for AI safety, Multi-Agent Collaboration, Model Distillation for efficiency, and Intelligent Prompt Routing and Caching to boost speed and cost-effectiveness. These updates make Amazon Bedrock an even more powerful platform for businesses to develop AI-driven applications quickly and efficiently.

With these innovations, AWS is poised to support Việt Nam’s digital transformation, helping businesses harness the full potential of AI.

“We’re continuously evolving to meet our customers' needs, ensuring they can succeed in an AI-powered world,” Hiếu said.

As Việt Nam accelerates its digital future, AWS remains dedicated to driving AI innovation and providing the tools businesses need to thrive. — VNS
